Simon Hayes

Simon Hayes returned to Tokyo in autumn 2006 after the untimely death of Allan Walker, having previously worked for a boutique financial services executive search firm in London for two and a half years. Upon graduating from Cambridge with a degree in law, Simon worked in investment banking for four years. In 1986 he left Morgan Grenfell’s M&A department to become an equity research analyst with James Capel, and subsequently Warburg, where he achieved a #1 ranking in both the Institutional Investor and Extel research polls in the Conglomerates and Other Industrial Materials sectors. He then spent most of the 1990s in Asia, first as Head of Equity Research for Warburg in Japan and then as a Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific Equities for Salomon Brothers and UBS in Hong Kong. Before moving into headhunting he spent three years in private investment, so has a unique understanding, from an executive search perspective, of how the principal investment, investment banking and equity worlds coalesce. Mark Antonio

Mark Antonio joined Eban in 2003 and has been working in Japanese executive search since 1999. Over that time he has successfully made senior executive placements in almost all areas of capital markets. He currently focuses on the fixed income and structured product areas – placing department heads, team leaders and senior producers in sales, trading and structuring roles. Mark first arrived in Japan while studying Japanese at university in 1993 and has visited and worked there since. In 2008 Mark Antonio Biography poll for best headhunting executives, Mark was placed in the top 3 for Japanese Fixed Income.

 

Martin Eastgate

Martin Eastgate

Martin Eastgate joined Eban from July 2008, managing real estate related roles. Martin has been covering the Japanese Real Estate markets since early 2002 when he joined a boutique, Tokyo-based executive search firm. Prior to joining Eban he worked for a global search firm as a Managing Consultant in Banking & Finance. In particular Martin has successfully worked on mid to Managing Director level searches with Real Estate Investment Funds, Asset Advisory firms, loan servicers, foreign and domestic banks, and corporate real estate companies. In the 2006 Mark Antonio Biography Head-hunters poll, he was voted one of the top 10 private equity search consultants in Japan for his work with real estate equity investors. Martin hails from England and graduated from The University of Manchester with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in History.

 

Yuka Fujita

Yuka Fujita

Yuka Fujita joined the executive search industry in Tokyo in 1999 and is one of the founding members of the Eban team in Japan. Yuka executes mid to senior level assignments across fixed income, equities, investment banking and the buy-side (both asset management and hedge funds), particularly where Japanese is a prerequisite. Increasingly, Yuka is focusing on private wealth management professionals. Having lived in both the UK and Germany, Yuka is also a graduate from London Guildhall University with a B.A./B.Sc. in Social Policy and Management, with a minor in Marketing.

 

Masayuki Koito

Masayuki Koito

Masayuki Koito graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University in Law and studied in the United States. He began his career as a financial market researcher in 1998 having joined Eban in August 1999 from a major law office in Tokyo. Masayuki continues to lead the Japanese research team in all aspects across markets and advisory, including across derivatives, investment banking, fixed income, equities, investment management, hedge funds, alternatives, private equity and venture capital. 

Charlotte Lang

Charlotte Lang

Charlotte "Charlie" Lang joined Eban in July 2008 from another Financial Services search firm in Tokyo. She specialises in equities; originating and executing senior level assignments on behalf of investment banks. Her searches to date have predominantly been focused across the sales and research areas. Miss Lang has nine years of executive search experience, in Japan, the U.K. and Europe. Prior to moving to Japan, Charlie was a Head of Practice for Korn/Ferry International in London and was responsible for leading and delivering executive searches for numerous blue-chip clients. Charlie was born in the U.K. and educated in the U.K., Belgium and France. She graduated with dual degrees from Oxford Brookes University - Bachelor of Arts in European Business and a Diplôme Européen de Commerce et de Gestion from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce, La Rochelle, France.

 

Steven McCrindle

Steven McCrindle joined Eban in February 2007, focusing on asset management assignments. Steven has successfully originated and executed numerous senior-level assignments including a president and representative director for a global asset management firm. Prior to joining Eban, Steven worked for another recruiting firm in Tokyo, where he headed up the financial services practice and actively recruited in asset management and equities for four years. He has been ranked consistently in the top 10 in his area of expertise and was ranked top three in the 2008  poll. Steven is a qualified IFA.

Kevin Trainor

Kevin Trainor

Kevin Trainor joined Eban in May 2007 from another search firm in Tokyo where, as at Eban, he focused on searches for investment banking and private equity professionals. Having moved to Japan in 2002, he began his career in the recruitment industry in 2004 with a boutique search firm. Kevin has successfully placed IBD and advisory professionals from product head and MD level to multiple analysts and associate level roles as well as director level candidates for a number of global and domestic funds within private equity. In the 2008 AsiaMoney headhunters poll Kevin was ranked in the top 3 for IBD recruiters in Tokyo.  

Kevin was raised in Ireland and also lived in the US and UK before coming to Tokyo. He earned a BA in History and Political Science from University College Dublin and went on to complete a Masters in Comparative Politics at the London School of Economics.
