Our History

Emma Weir founded Eban in Hong Kong in 1995. Like the 'Iban', the tribe of Sarawak headhunters from which we derived our name, we set out to foster a non-hierarchical culture of openness and meritocracy. The company was built around a vision to create the most professional integrated global financial services boutique search platform in the market, working in long-term partnership with a very select client base. Now, with Eban's name firmly established across ex-Japan Asia, Europe, Japan and America, we've made that vision a reality. Our consultants have been voted best individual headhunters in ex-Japan Asia and Japan, and the company has also been named best search firm in both of these markets.
