Allan Walker established the Eban Japan office in Tokyo in 1999 and led the team tirelessly. His hard work ensured that Eban was voted Japan's ‘Most Admired Executive Search Firm’ in the Allan’s early career was spent in investment banking and capital markets, latterly with Hambros Bank in London, Tokyo and Sydney. In 1997 he was recruited to run the Japan business of Stephens Associates, a UK based specialist financial markets executive search firm and it was from there that he joined Emma Weir and Stephen McAlinden as a partner of Eban. Allan spoke Japanese, Mandarin, French and German, he held a degree in European and Oriental languages from Cambridge University and worked and studied in the UK, Japan, Australia, France and Taiwan. Allan died suddenly in Tokyo in September 2006.
